The Community Health Project of THOTW was inspired by the life of Dr. George Viterbo. As a student he was our Medical-Surgical lecturer and Community Health mentor. We were alternately assigned as a group to go with Dr. Viterbo in the community where he trained Barangay Health Workers as paramedics. It was there we observed how he taught and empowered the people to take care of their health. Despite coming from a wealthy family and the opportunity to practice his profession in big cities and in the US he chose to live and shared all that he had with us in Capiz.
