| THE MAKING OF THE HOUSE OF THE WAY
THE WORD by Araceli Caldea
It was unexpected that the house of the Tumlos family will someday become The House Of The Way being entrusted to the Caldea family. Several years ago Nanette had been encouraging me to buy the house but I never thought of going back to Roxas City so I did not consider it. But the thought just kept on coming so I prayed and God talked to me in Jeremiah 32 and circumstances led us to buy the house. Even before planning to buy the property the Lord has shown me His provisions which I was not aware of. The acquisition of the house was not without challenges that I strongly thought of giving it up unless there was a clear revelation to buy the property. The word in Jer. 32:26-28 confirmed to purchase the house. “Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah saying “Behold I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me? Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it”. There was a thought that the word might be interpreted out of context so it was strongly considered of giving it up. My brother was informed that the decision will be made after church but in my heart a decision was already made not to purchase the house. On sunday morning service I asked our prayer circle to pray regarding a decision that I needed to make that day. During the sermon our pastor had his message from Jeremiah 32. I just looked at my friend who prayed for me about it with amazement as though it was a confirmation. Still not too convinced I called another friend after church and shared the circumstances. Without too much discussion my friend told me “What is in the Chaldea that you don’t understand?" She tried to confirm that there was doubt and the Lord had to tell me straight. It was not easy but from that time on we only have to trust that He who started the work will finish it. THE BEGINNING by Edgar Caldea
The House of the Way was conceived on August 1, 2004. The Caldea family met together and suggested that we pool our talents and resources to open a business, part of the income to be used for Missionary care, Community Health Programs and Educational programs. Missionary Care in honor of Papa (Guillermo) and Mama (Lagrimas, deceased) whose desire is help the missionaries who introduced them to Jesus and discipled them; Community Health Program in honor of Dr. George Viterbo who started training Community Health Workers and involved students and faculty in the College of Nursing of Filamer Christian College to learn Community Health Programs; other Educational Programs in honor of Dr. Agustin Masa who believed and opened opportunities for Neneng and others to finish Nursing Course despite the scarcity of resources.
The house had always been flooded every time it rained and needed a lot of repairs which was even more expensive than having it demolished to build a new one. It was not planned but it was a necessity and once again God provided for everything, financial and personnel, to work on the building project.
THE PROJECT by Julie Compuesto
THOTW MISSION INC. (The House Of The Way Mission Inc.) The name of the Building itself speaks that the Caldea Family is an instrument to fulfill God’s task entrusted to them. Several names were considered when we were just dreaming about having the building and the project. We thought of something as a place of rest and fellowship, maybe a haven of rest. We felt it just didn’t sound right. Finally the name “The House Of The Way”. Here’s why we decided to call our project The House Of The Way: To proclaim the name of Jesus as our Saviour and the owner of everything. John 14:6: Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.
THE PERSONS INVOLVED..........Ms. Araceli D. Caldea is a Registered Nurse, Master of Nursing, Public Health Nurse, who graduated from Filamer Christian College in 1976. She was Dean of the College of Nursing, Filamer Christian College, Roxas City, Philippines in 1985 to 1987. She pursued her professional career in the USA with a dream to someday help family, friends and nurses/students in Roxas City. Presently she works as Nurse Clinical Systems Project Manager of KP Health Connect at Kaiser Permanente Southern California Region developing the content of comprehensive patient record. But before she became a Project Manager, she worked in different settings as a Staff Nurse, Home Care Field Staff, Quality Manager in Home Care Department and had been a Consultant in different Home Care Agencies. By having The House Of The Way, it will house different projects and is her way of giving back to Capiz where she was given the opportunity to finish her nursing course.
Mr. Edgardo D. Caldea, the only son in the family, has been endowed with a gift of administration and supervision in terms of business enterprise. Although he is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at Central Philippine University, he diverted his mind and plunge into the world of business.
THE INSTRUCTIONS AND PROMISES..........God provided us with faithful friends who visited us and shared with us God's instructions on how to manage The House Of The Way. In one of our friend's visit, God talked to her and she informed us about the following:
"Regarding Computer Internet, there should be guidelines that it will be used only for communication and education. A Supervisor will be needed with the following qualities: honesty, integrity, purity, righteousness and fear of God. Philippians 4:8-9 “Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you”. Before doing anything consult the Lord. Pray before work starts. Sanctify the workers. Ask the welfare of the workers: their spiritual condition, testify to them, tell the intention or purpose of this building and share the Gospel. After it is finished, fumigate from inside to outside. Do not bring/do anything that defiles My name in this building: Things, Reading materials, Computer, T.V. Pray with thanksgiving for every floor. Let this be a house of worship every Sunday. I redeemed this place. Read Leviticus 23-26 & Deuteronomy 28 for instructions and promises (Lev. 25: 55: I am the Lord your God). I will unfold to you. Do not be proud, I am the Lord who made this building. I have the plan for this building, not her plan. She (Neneng Araceli) must follow MY plan. I am the Lord. I am the sure /firm foundation. I am the solid rock. There should be restoration in the second floor. On the 3rd floor have a prayer garden with a landscape and sunlight comes. Why? It should be open so they can see My Glory. Suggestion: part of prayer garden should have a transparent roof. Pray for the salvation of Roxas city. I am the Star of David which means Shield. The house must be well lighted. In every floor I will be lifted up and worshipped. Our friend asked the Lord why the restrooms are small in the 2nd floor when the plan is big. And God answered: "I am more interested with people than the comfort it gives them. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Obey His greatest command. Obey His great commission. On the second floor, there should be no divider to signify unity in relationship. For the 3rd floor, check drainage. I am giving you these Songs: Our God our help in ages past, Oh the Glory of His presence, Praise the Name of Jesus. With this our friend had this Prayer: Lord let your purpose, plan and will be done in this building. Thank you that what you started in this building you will bring it into completion. Seal every word you’ve said with your precious blood. To you Father God, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, be the Glory, the honor, the praises & thanksgiving. Amen."
We are so blessed that we have friends who share with us in the Making of the House Of The Way, it's Vision and Mission and for this we continue to praise God. May His Name will be glorified in everything that we do.
THE DEDICATION.........After a year, The House Of The Way is almost finished to carry on God’s plan as revealed. On the 5th of November, Neneng and her family together with her close friends as well as the workers of the building gathered together and dedicated The House Of The Way. It started with Praise & Worship songs proclaiming God’s faithfulness to the Caldea family. There was the joy of the Lord as everybody clapped and sang melodious songs for God after which His message was heard through Pastor George Parcia. Neneng and Toto informed the group of how The House Of The Way came into being. The group headed by Pastor Parcia dedicated every part of the house through prayer and pouring of oil.
THE MANIFESTATION.........God’s presence manifested through a vision. As the dedication was going on, God’s Glory manifested through a vision…a light shone brightly while I was praying and laying hands on walls. At first I thought it was just a reflection of light because that was already past eleven in the morning, but when I opened my eyes, the light was not as bright as when I saw it with eyes closed. Indeed, God’s Words in Joel 2:28 states: “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, young men will see visions. This is God’s revelation that His presence will stay where His Name is Glorified and lifted up. The fellowship continued until the evening enjoying God’s provision. It was an awesome experience that Christians came with one goal… To proclaim God’s Faithfulness ….and….to give God the Glory.
The Blessing…….July 2006
